Dr. Matthew Breuninger
Dr. Breuninger, MA, Psy.D. is a licensed clinical psychologist with a Doctoral degree from Baylor University. Before pursuing his doctorate in clinical psychology, Dr. Breuninger received a Master’s degree in Theology from Ave Maria University. During his doctoral work at Baylor University, he pursued research interests at the intersection of faith and psychology. Clinically, Dr. Breuninger focuses on treating anxiety, depression, PTSD, and substance abuse. He has had extensive experience treating combat trauma in military populations as well as addressing substance abuse issues with incarcerated persons. He uses cognitive-behavioral therapy, mindfulness-based approaches (ACT & DBT), and an interpersonal process framework when working with clients. He is the author of Finding Freedom in Christ: Healing Life’s Hurts. When not working, Dr. Breuninger can be found hiking, fishing, and enjoying time with his family.
